Synopsis:
Cassidy Holmes, better known as “Sassy Gloss” was a member of Gloss, the hottest pop group in America. Years after the group dissolved in 2002, she is found dead by suicide. The remaining group members, Rose, Merry, and Yumi, who were the closest to Cassidy, are all in complete shock and trying to understand what they could have done to help her.
My Thoughts on the Book:
Even though it’s fiction, this book gave such a good perspective on the entertainment industry and the flaws in our beliefs that we know everything about celebrities. Although there isn’t a lot of in-depth character development, I didn’t feel as though it was really needed since the main focus is on the plot and the tragic event, rather than the people involved. This book had me feeling nostalgic from the first page. I loved the flashbacks to the heyday when the group was at the height of their fame, even though some of the content was difficult to read about. Despite the long read, this book was so well written I blew right through it and couldn’t get enough details about Gloss!
