Read this if you:

Synopsis:

Two sisters living in France during WWII are doing everything they can to survive the war and protect the ones they love. Though they take very different paths, they both show incredible resilience and play courageous roles in the French resistance.

My Thoughts on the Book:

Okay I really thought I was going to love this one and it would rip me to shreds but it didn’t quite get there for me! This was such a moving story but I just didn’t feel connected to the characters enough to really love it.
I enjoyed how this book showed both Vianne, who tried to maintain her “ordinary” life during the war, and Isabelle, who jumped right into the resistance movement. I loved that both roles of women in the war were explored and how their stories showed the incredible sacrifices that were made. All of the pieces of this story came together so beautifully, the end of this book was definitely heart wrenching!
