Synopsis:
Kristen Petersen has come to terms with her medical issues and has decided to go through with a procedure that will keep her from having children. When she meets Josh Copeland, she is immediately smitten but after he talks about his dreams of having a huge family, she realizes she must keep him at arm’s length to protect both of them. The two are stuck together as best man and maid of honour for their best friends and as their attraction grows, it becomes harder for Kristen to stay away.
My thoughts on the book:
Welp this book absolutely ruined me. I went into this one completely blind and expecting an adorable love story. While I got everything I had hoped for, I also was thrown into absolute heartache. I absolutely adored Kristen and Josh’s love story and reading about their developing feelings made me feel all kinds of warm and fuzzy. I really wished that Kristen had been more forthcoming with her health concerns instead of just assuming they would be an issue for 90% of the book but I’m so happy they got their HEA.
Trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible, the last portion of this book absolutely gutted me. I haven’t had this much emotion over a fictional character in forever and this one shook me to the core.
I will say, at the beginning of the book there is A LOT of “she’s not like other girls”-ing that I almost couldn’t get through but thankfully I pushed past it – this was such an incredible read!
