The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon – 4/5 Stars

· carry yourself with the confidence of a mediocre white man
· love some workplace drama
Synopsis:
Shay has been a public radio producer for the last 10 years but she can’t help her jealousy when Dominic shows up at the station and becomes their new star reporter without paying his dues. The two are at each other’s throats so much that it gives Shay an idea for a new show – hosted by exes. The station execs love the idea so much that Dominic and Shay are forced to concoct a fake relationship story and make sure it’s believable.
My Thoughts on the Book:
This book was super cute and had so many layers to the story which I loved! I liked how there was a ton of character development and we really got to know Shay and Dominic but the actual love story in this one fell a little flat for me.
The side characters were all so great in this one but I absolutely hated their boss which I think actually ruined the story a little! I really enjoyed the podcast elements and transcripts that were included in the book as well, it was so cute to see Shay and Dominic interact on air. The ending of this one was a bit of a mess but it was super cute how everything finally came together for these two.
