Read this if you:
· have ever wondered what it would be like to date your complete opposite
· feel as though you need to make some room for romance in your life
· need a read with some predictability
Ruthie works at Providence Retirement Villa and has been there so long, she’s starting to resemble the residents there. She’s working hard to hopefully impress the owners and become a manager, all while trying to prove that it is a great investment so they don’t decide to sell it. She’s too busy focusing on these goals to even think about dating… until Teddy Prescott rolls into town. Even though he’s Ruthie’s total opposite she finds herself drawn to him, even as she’s doing everything she can to get him off the property and out of her life before he starts to derail all of her plans.
My thoughts on the book:
I LOVED The Hating Game and so I came into this one with really high expectations but it just sort of fell flat for me. Everything about this book was so likeable but just meh. I loved all of the characters in this book and the banter was A+. I enjoyed the slow burn of the relationship developing between Ruthie and Teddy and especially loved seeing Ruthie finally step out of her comfort zone.
Every part of this book just seemed so predictable and I felt as though I didn’t have a pull to pick this one up except to just get it over with. I would definitely say this is a cute, light read and a great palate cleanser if you’re between heavy books!
