Synopsis:
When Fable awakens on a ship that is not her home, The Marigold, she begins to formulate a plan to get off of it and back to her crew. When she realizes that she is already part of another plan to take down the helmsman of the ship, she tries to go along with it, but ends up bringing more trouble to herself and all of the people she holds dearest.
My Thoughts on the Book:
Part two of the Fable duology did not disappoint! I went into this with really high expectations and I enjoyed it as much as the first. While the supporting characters that I loved from the first book played less of an important role in this one, this book developed a lot of relationships and side plots that came up in Fable. And of course it had all the action and adventure that sucked me into this series!
My one gripe with this one was the terrible decisions that Fable kept making, putting herself and the rest of the Marigold’s crew in harm’s way. A lot of these ended up developing the plot in new and exciting ways but as they were happening, I couldn’t help but 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
If you couldn’t already tell, I highly recommend these books if you’re looking for an escape from the mundane!
