Mindy Kaling – 3.5/5 Stars
I love Mindy Kaling and The Office & The Mindy Project are favourites of mine. I enjoyed reading about how Mindy came from a family of regular professionals and pushed back against her parents’ wants for her life to pursue something she knew she wanted to do. Mindy is hilarious and all of her humour and quick wit comes out throughout this entire book. I loved all the anecdotes about her early work and all the people who she encountered on her way to the top.
Although I really enjoyed this as a light read, I felt as though this book made it all seem so easy for her, when I’m sure there was a lot of struggle and hard work on her part. Overall a great read, I loved learning more about Mindy’s early beginnings!
