· can handle the frustrations of everything possible going wrong
Synopsis:
When Finlay Donovan receives intel that there is a hit out for her ex-husband, her and her sidekick, Vero, taken it upon themselves to save him. Dodging book deadlines, secrets, and an ever-present Detective Nick, Finlay gets herself into deep trouble trying to keep her children’s father from falling victim to a contract killer.
My Thoughts on the Book:
This book was an absolute disaster in the best possible way. I couldn’t believe how many things went wrong for poor Finlay! I loved the mystery in this one and could not put it down. The love triangle that Finlay found herself in on top of everything else also added a cute layer to the plot which is always something I’m looking for.
Finlay and Vero are such a dynamic duo, they’re so funny and relatable and I love their relationship. Everyone needs an accountant/babysitter/BFF who has their back this way!
The ending of this book really sealed the deal for me. It was so unpredictable how everything came together and similar to the first book, the last line has been dying for the next one!
I loved the first book in this series and this one was just as good. Definitely pick it up before this one – the story is so much better with all of the background you’ll get there first! This book is out tomorrow – highly recommend for a fun, edge-of-your-seat read!
