Synopsis:
One the same day that two students from her high school mysteriously go missing, Jackie Mendoza pulls herself out of her gaming world just long enough to notice a new app on her phone – Capsule. Jackie finds her curiosity is piqued and upon opening it is met with the realization that she is the only one who can face the game head on in the hopes of saving her classmates.
My thoughts on the book:
This book was one of my few forays into sci-fi/thriller territory. Although this subject matter doesn’t usually catch my attention, I was interested in seeing how it could be tied in to more realistic topics and nothing captures our daily lives quite like the reality of being glued to our phones.
I did find this story to be a bit preach-y about how terrible technology is and I also found it to be a bit scattered and as though the plot didn’t flow very smoothly. I was however sucked in by the storyline and found myself picking this book back up pretty consistently to find out what happened next. This book was definitely a great read if you’re looking for something that’s easy to follow and will keep your attention!
Special thank you to the author for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review!
