A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas – 4.5/5 Stars
Read this if you:
· loved Beauty & The Beast
· believe that revenge should be an eye for an eye
· want to dip your toe in the fantasy realm
Synopsis:
While hunting a deer for her family’s survival, Feyre kills a wolf that is competing for her prey. Little does she know that this wolf was a faerie in disguise, until she is dragged to the magical kingdom just over the wall – a life for a life. As Feyre begins to adjust to life in this new home, she starts to develop feelings for her captor, just as she also starts to learn of the dangers lurking in Prythian.
My Thoughts on the Book:
Does anyone even need a review for ACOTAR at this point? Booksta don’t hate me, I loved this book but it dragged a little too much in the middle for me to commit to 5 stars!
I loved how this was a Beauty and the Beast retelling and I got that right away from Feyre and Tamlin’s storyline. I was so sucked into the world of Prythian, the storytelling in this book is unreal. The side characters also added so much to the story, I’m excited to hear more about them. While Feyre frustrated me a little bit with some poor decisions, I overall really liked her as a character and I fell in love with her and Tamlin together (I know, I know).
I totally get the hype around this series and I can’t wait to pick up the next one before I read any more spoilers 🙃
